Midcentury House Remodel
This unique 1946 house has a Prairie Style-inspired layout, low-slung and nestled into its corner lot. It needed more access to natural light, a live-in kitchen, and an easier flow between the living spaces. We identified the most interesting period details to keep, including the wood paneled entry and mid-century fireplace, and stitched a bright, light-filled palette into this existing fabric, incorporating several new skylights, White Oak flooring, quartzite countertops, Mutina & Heath tile. Unique custom elements include a live edge Elm bathroom bench and hourglass vanity knobs turned from the same slab.
